Minerae

Thomas Missé

‘Minerae’ is a range of lamps based on a dialogue between raw and refined matter. A rough piece of iron ore lies on a polished aluminium base. It may look as though someone left it there absent-mindedly, but move it and you’ll discover the opposite: these two minerals play a magical game with each other. As you move the stone, the light intensifies, dims, or switches off. Minerae invites you to interact with light in a very tactile and intuitive way. The aim of its hidden technology is to develop a new, more sensitive relation between user and product.
