Interlude

To many pensioners, moving to a home for the elderly is a shock, because it takes away what independence they had left. ‘Interlude’, an application by Tess Janse, has been designed to soften the blow. The elderly person can manage their own Interlude account with the help of a caregiver or relative. Besides answering a registration form, users upload short videos about themselves, offering immediate insight into their personality, preferences and daily routines. The account links through to the care facility, so carers can get to know their client in advance and help them settle in when they arrive.
