The Gardener
Rebecca Oevermann
Meet ‘The Gardener’ and his philosophy. He regards himself as an intrinsic part of the ecological system. His notion of time is related to the pace of nature. He engages in an intimate dialogue with plants: he knows how to listen and become one with the environment. Inspired by the contemplative state of mind that comes with gardening, Rebecca Oevermann crawled into the skin of the gardener and created a poetic narrative. Her garments visualise this second skin: a translucent suit that makes you blend in, a ‘living’ coat that reacts to physical warmth, and a hat that you can lift as a respectful gesture to nature.
