Anticipating Reproduction
Research and questions regarding the socio-cultural and ethical-legal implications of artificial human wombs abound. Instead, Oshin Siao Bhatt sought to explore the issue by asking what the everyday experiences of reproducing extracorporeally might be. Based on research into how reproduction is the result of a fraught collective effort by human and non-human actors, a speculative care assemblage that would facilitate different reproductive journeys was developed. Workshops invited participants to engage with this speculation and consider the processes and services that might arise. The findings are presented through a variety of objects to be found in the waiting room of the fictional ReproPharm Ltd.
