Tools for Therapy

Nicolette Bodewes

In primary care psychology, the therapist and client only have a short number of sessions to determine the problem and work on a solution. ‘Tools for Therapy’ is a communication toolkit to support that process. This basic set of ceramic plaster cubes and cylinders helps to visualise feelings when words are not enough. Arranging the neutral objects on the accompanying round board makes it easier to explain a family setting or any other scenario. The crayons can add an extra layer with colours and connections. When your mind is going around in circles, these tools can help to get a grip and untangle complex thoughts, feelings and situations.
