Algorithmic crime prediction is a relatively new technology used to predict the likelihood of places to qualify as crime scenes, and persons to be either a victim or perpetrator of a future crime.
Yet, it also has the potential to perpetuate existing biases and criminalise poverty, while its processes and possible prejudices remain the secret of developers and police departments.
This project will fuse sparse and fragmented evidence from anecdotes, articles and the little data that's available on the working of the software, into a coherent narrative.
A 3D-scanning technique will reconstruct a metaphorical crime scene where these crime prediction materials merge into a single visual experience.
