A series of performative experiments explore the evolving nature of craft and labour across the physical and digital realms.
"‘Contemporary Labor' examines the relationship between contemporary technological media and their creators and users—humans. The project combines live streaming with ceramic manufacture and questions modes of reasoning that arise.
The combination of digital media and artisanal production as contemporary technical media and physical labor opens up a discourse not only about the historical aspects of labor but also about the novel labor paradigms that may emerge in the future, such as ownership and copyright.
The project further contemplates whether these objects, created within an overlapping space between physical and digital realm, are digital creations or physical entities. Through performative experiments, the project encourages an active discourse about the constant presence of technological media in our lives and questions the coexistence of humans and technology."
