A series of interventions serve to recognise the bathroom as a sanctuary of privacy and self-care, inviting expanding its physiological purpose.
Over time, the bathroom has evolved beyond its primary function of fulfilling physiological needs. It has become a sanctuary—a haven of privacy and solitude, offering the perfect respite from the demands of work and the chaos of everyday life. Jiayuan Pu embarks on a journey to reimagine the bathroom through a series of redesigns, each catering to the multifaceted functions this space can potentially accommodate. Her vision is to not only reconfigure the physical space but also redefine the roles and meanings attached to this sanctuary, with the aim of accentuating its importance and enhancing its comfort. As we navigate the intersections of necessity, privacy, and sanctuary, 'Dr. Bathroom' charts a new course towards reconceptualising our relationship with this uniquely personal space.
