History in Question
Who is in charge of history? And how is it collected and narrated in the institutional space of the museum? Over the course of many years we have absorbed history as is, hard facts that were barely discussable. Presented in museums that often felt sacred. The exhibition 'History in Question' cultivates a dynamic re-evaluation of the past by displaying questions in a setting for conversation and communication. It is shaped around a 'Revisited Dialogue', derived from a Socratic Dialogue, in which participants share personal perspectives and tacit knowledge. Hierarchy is expressed by standing on pedestals normally reserved for objects. Here, research becomes an active and visible aspect of the museum, helping it to develop its vital reputation as a repository of reliable information and expertise.
