Navigating Stress

Mirte van der Nat

Everyone experiences stress. Even though it helps to talk about it, that is easier said than done. Mirte van der Nat has designed a conversation toolkit that enables people to share and analyse their personal struggles. Participants are invited to build their own stress landscape with landmarks like ‘the lake of expectations’ and ‘the city of never-ending tasks’. Additional challenge cards support the conversation. By offering the words and images to express all kinds of anxieties, the kit opens up discussion. ‘Players’ feel free to go on an exploratory journey and search for routes to another state of mind. The map includes both negative and positive aspects of stress, presenting valuable information about and a holistic view of a common human condition.
